Patriarch Sikolu
1770 - 1890
Our family patriarch lived for approximately 120 years. He married Orekunrin ("Friend of Man"), and together they had five extraordinary children, each inheriting his legendary courage and character.

Owobeku
The courageous warrior. Father of Abon, grandfather of Satuo, Moleye, and Iya Oniru.
Danayike
The bold and daring. His name literally means "he who surrounds a mountain with fire." A legendary warrior in the Ijesha wars.
Fapohunda
The great war general from whom we take our name. He continued the mighty line of Sikolu through the intense Kiriji wars.

Iroko
The strongest tree in the bush. Like his brothers, he was a famous warrior, notably fighting side-by-side with Ogedengbe.
The exploits of Danayike, Fapohunda, and Iroko were legendary. Side by side with the great war-lord Ogedengbe, they fought fiercely for Ijeshaland. Their names historically represent ultimate strength and bravery: Ogunrinola, Belejokoju, and Iroko.
